End of January Rants

Planning on getting a new computer anytime soon, any recommendations? NO APPLE PRODUCTS PLEASE, LMAO. Had Service today, found it quite fun, the way the Indonesians praise the lord by dancing before him. Guess, there's not just only one way of praise afterall.

---

Well, although I'm not really that enthu to go backt o school again, but hey I look on the bright side of Monday Mornings, I get to go to Starbucks, get a drink, walk to school. Feels more natural. It's a fact that I can't deny, I have to go to school for another week, then comes the saturday, followed by Sunday Services. Y'know, it gets kinda boring every now and then, I guess I just haven't achieved my new year resolution yet. Maybe I just have to seek for it? or It seeks for me, either way, I know it's coming, very soon.

I SO TOTALLY LOVE THIS MOTIVATIONAL SONG.

Did you know that there's going to be a Phua Chu Kang : The Movie ? I was like geez, a movie? Impossible, pfft. But it's actually for real, no joke. Read more about it here. Would you pay to watch a Phua Chu Kang Movie? Hmm... I'll have to see the trailer before deciding.

Time to highlight the things I've done in January 2010
  • Went to School
  • Went for CCA
  • Went to Church
  • Bought a Starbucks Tumbler
  • Bought a Crumpler Bag
  • Managed to understand 1st and 2nd Chapter of Principals of Accounts
  • Felt a closer bond with God
  • Started bible study
  • Managed to control my finances
  • Tried something I never dared
  • Became a Math Rep
  • Made friends
  • Did stock check on a Saturday Morning
Hmm, that should practically be all, guess I shall stop here, cause if I go on, the list will be super uper long, I don't wanna waste my valueable time, do I?

Checking Rant

I was like this just now in school, due to the frustration of stock check I had to do for the beverages in the Shop. I mean how many drinks can there be in a shop?! It's like non-stop after counting this drink, there's another one and then in the end to find out that there's somemore that was not counted. Frustration, Confusion, Messed up. Practically spent my whole morning in school for stock check. Like wow, didn't know we had so much stock to count afterall..

Same as usual, back at home, bored. My specs look fake in the pic, lmao, so random. "Sometimes I wish I could be you, just so I could be friends with me" Make sense? Yes it does!

Hellooo people of the internet, if you have twitter, do follow me, alright? :)

Overseas Rant.

This year's Enterprise Club Business Trip is to Taiwan, Taipei.

Taipei (台北; literally "Northern Taiwan") is the largest city in Taiwan and has served as the de facto capital (provisional capital) of the Republic of China (commonly known as "Taiwan") since the Chinese Civil War in 1949. It is the political, economic, and cultural center of the country.

Situated at the northern tip of the island, Taipei is located on the Danshui River, and is about 25 km southwest of Keelung, its port on the Pacific Ocean. Another coastal city, Danshui, is about 20 km northwest at the river's mouth on the Taiwan Strait. It lies in the two relatively narrow valleys of the Keelung (基隆河) and Xindian (新店溪) Rivers, which join to form the Danshui River along the city's western border.[1]
The city proper (Taipei City) is home to an estimated 2,619,920 people (March 2009). Taipei City, Taipei County, and Keelung City together form the Taipei metropolitan area with a population of 6,752,826 (March 2009).[2] However, they are administered under different local government bodies. "Taipei" sometimes refers to the whole metropolitan area, while "Taipei City" refers to the city proper.
Considered to be an alpha world city,[3] Taipei is part of a major industrial area. Railways, high speed rail, highways, airports, and bus lines connect Taipei with all parts of the island. The city is served by Songshan Airport (domestic and cross-strait flights) and Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (international and cross-strait flights).

Taipei was founded in the early 18th century and became an important center for overseas trade in the 19th century. The Japanese acquired Taiwan in 1895 after the First Sino-Japanese War and made Taipei the island's capital.[4] The Republic of China took over the island in 1945 after Japan's defeat in World War II. Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek declared Taipei the provisional capital of the Republic of China in December 1949 after the Kuomintang (KMT) government was defeated by the Communists who took over most of Mainland China during the Chinese Civil War.[5][6]

I so totally ripped all the info about Taipei from Wikipedia, all the credit goes to Wiki!

& for my Class Overseas Camp, we're going to Thailand, Bangkok.

Bangkok is the capital, largest urban area and primary city of Thailand. Known in Thai as Krung Thep Mahanakhon (Thai: กรุงเทพมหานคร, pronounced [krūŋtʰêːp máhǎːnákʰɔːn] ( listen)), or กรุงเทพฯ Krung Thep ( (listen) (help·info), meaning "City of the Deity") for short, it was a small trading post at the mouth of the Chao Phraya River during the Ayutthaya Kingdom. It came to the forefront of Siam when it was given the status as the capital city in 1768 after the burning of Ayutthaya. However, the current Rattanakosin Kingdom did not begin until 1782 when the capital was moved across the river by Rama I after the death of King Taksin. The Rattanakosin capital is now more formally called "Phra Nakhon" (Thai: พระนคร), pertaining to the ancient boundaries in the metropolis' core and the name Bangkok now incorporates the urban build-up since the 18th century which has its own public administration and governor.
Since its inception as the capital of Siam, it was at the center of European Colonial plans, but due to its strategic location in Indochina, it acted as a buffer-zone and brokered power between the European forces. Through this, it gained notoriety in the world as an independent, dynamic, and influential city. And in the span of over two hundred years, Bangkok has grown to become the political, social and economic center of Thailand, Indochina and one of Southeast Asia.

As a direct result of the 1980s and 1990s Asian investment boom, numerous multinational corporations base their regional headquarters in Bangkok and the city has become a regional force in finance and business. Its increasing influence on global politics, culture, fashion, and entertainment underlines its status as a global city. In 2009, it was the second most expensive city in South-East Asia behind Singapore.[1]
The city's wealth of cultural landmarks and attractions in addition to its notorious entertainment venues has made it synonymous with exoticism. Its historic wealth coincides with its rapid modernization, reflected in the cityscape and the urban society. The Grand Palace, Vimanmek Palace Complex, its thousands of temples, and the city's notorious red-light districts combine draw in 11 million international visitors each year, trailing just Paris and London.[2]

Bangkok has a population of approximately 6,355,144 residents while the greater Bangkok area has a population of 11,971,000 (January 2008).[3] The capital is part of the heavily urbanized triangle of central and eastern Thailand which stretches from Nakhon Ratchasima along Bangkok to the heavily Industrialized Eastern Seaboard. Bangkok borders six other provinces: Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan, Samut Sakhon and Nakhon Pathom, and all five provinces are joined in the conurbation of the Bangkok Metropolitan Area. It is served by two international airports, Suvarnabhumi International Airport and Don Muang, four rapid transit lines operated by the BTS, MRT, and the SRT, with plans to add eight more by 2020.

Yet again, I ripped it off from Wiki.

Random Rant.

Recently been visiting Youth Hub, it's an awsome place for youths like me. I find that I have emotional problems, sometimes I'm happy, sometimes I'm not, sometimes I'm angry, sometimes I'm high. A new goal I set for myself! To control my emotions, for if I do not control my emotions and let it run wild, I'll go crazy.

School's fine. Just feeling so weird now. So Random.

Reversing Rants.

This poster means a lot, save the earth today.

When you try your best, but you don't succeed

When you get what you want, but not what you need

When you feel so tired, but you can't sleep

Stuck in reverse
And the tears come streaming down your face

When you lose something you can't replace

When you love someone, but it goes to waste.

How I wish I could reverse time, to the time where I had no troubles, no fears, no problems, nothing at all. I really find it difficult currently, to deal with schoolwork, friends, teachers, classmates. It's just all of a sudden, time pass so fast that I didn't even realised it. It's already been almost a week since Campus ChangeMakers Camp. I really missed those 3 days 2 nights, where I had no stress, where I felt more relaxed, learnt more about myself. If time could just reverse, I'll repent all the mistakes, redo the events properly, making sure the ending will be correct. In almost every drama, story, movie, it has a happy ending, hence, I'm going to make sure there's a happy ending in MY STORY.

Awsome Rant.

I borrowed a book from Morgan, Titled The Rules of Love, it's a very interesting book which showcases 100 rules on love. There are also books like The Rules of Life, Parenting, Work, Wealth, Management. Seriously cool, go get a copy of it. Most of the rules showcased inside are really true.

The recent Sentosa Resort is so awsomeeeeeeez. Can't wait for the Theme Park to be ready, looks so cool. So many rides, so many games and whatever not. I'm going there when it opens, anyone else who wants to tag along? :)

Camp Rants

Hello fellow ranters, my camp's over, woo! I'm back home at last. But sadly, there's school tomorrow, like fomg, how I wish I could ditch school tomorrow to rest and prepare for school. I'm now a Panellist in Training for West Spring, which of course, means more work, more stress & more headaches. CCM Training was fun, innovative, enterprising, simply to sum it up in one word, AWSOME.

The picture seems blur to me, so I'm going to explain what is being potrayed in it, During Day 2 of the Camp, there was a Barbecue, every group had their own pit, we took alot of satay and sausages until there were no more left. Awsome right?

Last but not least, after the Barbecue, it always ends off with a CampFire. The pictures darn cool right? Everyone, Everything, Everywhere was in darkness. The only form of light was the fire & the cool glow sticks that were passed around! After all the performances, singing, cheering was over, there's also something to end it off on the right note. There was a dance-off, all the cool teenage leaders danced to the music, partied like crazy people, dance till we didn't care at all, dance with people we don't know. The theme song for the Camp was 'Bad Romance', then everyone kept on singing and dancing to the music, it was one of the most awsome camps I've ever been to, normal camps never have this! I mean what are the chances of school camps letting their students go wild and dance like funky people?! It was more of a camp rock? Although there wasn't any physical activities or whatever, I still made friends, learnt lots of new skill, learnt more about myself. I'm actually not really a good leader after all, looking back at all the things I've done, and compared to the leaders of other schools. I've never done anything much that glorifies my CCA that much & I've not really been that strict on rules, although they don't follow or do things accordingly, I don't really go and guide them. From this camp I realized that, I can make a difference in my CCA afterall. Hahas, although the ending of this rant sounds abit crappy and for some of you, you might never understand cause you have to be there to experience it for yourself.

Rants for the Week.

Recently just bought my very own Starbucks Coffee Tumbler, it's so cool, I recommend all of you to get one, not only does it save the environment, you get 50cents off your favourite drink when you bring your Tumbler. It's super uper awsome, go get one now. Make it the next MUST-BUY-THING on your list! Hahas, it may look like your ordinary waterbottle but it's worth the buy, ordinary waterbottles don't give you such advantages like Starbucks'.

I've received a letter from the school that I'm suppose to attend a Leadership Training Camp from the 15th to the 17th January. That's like this Friday to this Sunday. I mean like fomg, I have less than a week to pack for the camp, grahhh. If you would like to know more about this camp I'm attending, here's the info.

Date: 15 to 17 January 2010
Start : 15 January 6:00pm
End: 17 Jan 12:30pm
Venue: Sarimbun Scout Camp (70 Jalan Bahtera, S(719921)
Service Provider: National Youth Council
Teacher-in-Charge: Ms. Michelle Chang
I know this camp is going to be so tiring, on friday after school, pack up & get ready. After the camp, get home & rest then there's school the next day. Although it's stressful, I will endure. I WILL ENDURE!!

Social networking websites are part of a new GCSE in English being developed Photo: GETTY IMAGES

Pupils could study Facebook and Twitter for new English GCSE

Facebook, Twitter and other social networking websites could become part of the school curriculum under plans for a new English GCSE. Omg, did you hear about this?! It would be so awsome that Facebook & Twitter could be a part of our education.

The qualification, called English Studies: Digital Communication would require pupils to understand the sites often cited by teachers as a distraction to study.
Teenagers could take the course as a stand alone subject or alongside traditional English language and literature GCSE papers. Awsome ~

I'm so going to get myself this trenchcoat/jacket or whatever you call it. Don't you guys find it awsome? It's like so cool, although it will look like a big and heavy jacket, but it's also some sort of fashion.

Guess this would be my last post for this week, until next week, which is after my leadership training camp!

The Studying Rant

Go watch this latest Channel 5 Drama Production, The Pupil.

Storyline,

THE PUPIL is a local English drama series on the legal profession. It gives us a sneak peek into the world of Singaporean lawyers and the cases they take on as civil litigators.

Inspired in part by actual cases, the series aims to explore issues close to our hearts – from National Service to mediums and the supernatural, to the Education System to banking scandals – while showing how having their day in court affects the lives of the ordinary Singaporeans our lawyers represent.

From taxi drivers, to angry teenagers, to abused spouses, to quarreling office colleagues and squabbling bloggers, no case is too small or insignificant for THE PUPIL.

Behind their professional front, every lawyer has a story of their own to tell. More often than not, relationships, ambitions and personal desires surface to complicate matters, spinning off stories that are potentially more controversial and enthralling than the cases they have to try in court.

Wendy Lim – a young Malaysian who has just gotten her law degree overseas - arrives in Singapore to search for her missing father and begin her pupilage (or apprenticeship) at Roberts & Fong - her uncle's law firm and one of Singapore's top five. Fresh and inexperienced, she is unprepared for the hardships and office politics of the working world she has to face.

Having to learn under the self-conflicted, sharp-tongued Dennis Tang, her life as a pupil becomes even more unbearable since he is reluctant to hire her to begin with, and has to take her on simply because her uncle is the senior partner of his law firm.

What's more, in the course of seeking the truth about her missing father, Wendy may just uncover a plot that may endanger her own life, and those of the people around her.

Nownow, enough about dramas, I'm going to move on & share with you these interesting notes which I think may affect many people, and most of them will be useful to leaders.

1.Leadership - Not Laws but Liberty

It's not always about setting the rules but also giving freedom but still have and maintain the control.

2.Serving - Not Hierarchy but Heart

Hmmm, it's not always about the positions, the rankings but the effort you put in to serve and do your job well or simply the best.

3.Ability - Not Self-Centered but Spirit-Centered

Sometimes we may care for ourselves and worry for ourselves and leave the others out, its not always about us, its about everyone.

4.Discipline - Not Legalism but Love

Discipline doesn't have to be strict, some discipline can be done with love.

5.Creativity - Not Fear but Faith

There's actually nothing to be afraid of, just believe, believe, believe.

6.Love - Not Control but Care

We shouldn't be controlling our friends/family/workers/classmates or maybe even teachers. We should show them care and concern, making them feel the need to stand by your side whenever troubles come.

7.Work - Not Duty but Devotion

It's about how much you put in, the time, the effort, the passion. How much you are willing to give up for it, not just doing what you should, but doing more.

8.Attiude - Not Getting but Giving

We should give more than we get, true? For if we do not give, we will never receive.

9.Lifestlye - Not Explanation but Example

Be an example, a role model, if you want people to do things for you, show them the correct way or how you want them to do it, not just tell them verbally. Prove it to them, if we can do it, they can do better.

With all these 9 sentimental values, I'm sure it will develop a true leader in all of us, no matter if we did something wrong in the past, there's always a chance to make up for our mistakes.

Random Ranting.

Grrrrr... Some people make me oh so angry but still I'll have to bare it, keep my cool, chill, relax, calm down, breathe innnnnnnn, breathe outtttttt. Thinking about those people make me freaking mad, angry, furious, fustrated, annoyed, irritated. I think everyone feels like that sometimes towards some people. You talk to them normally but in your mind you're thinking to take a knife and stab them in the back real hard, as hard as how a straw can go through a potato, HAHA.

School's fine so far. I'm finally an upper sec, a pre-senior. Eew I'm a math representative this year, everything that has to got to do with math has to do with me.. I'm starting to miss the holidays, being able to wake up anytime I want, do whatever I want, have enough time to do things, lots and lots of free time. If I remember correctly there's no homework for me! (For Today) & I found out that Mr.Fauroni is my psychics teacher, like fomg, doomzday. I find this rant lame, so I'll stop here.

It was a typical first day of school for me today. Went to school as per normal, reported to the Hall for a 2 hour talk which felt like a 10000 hours. Went for Recess after that, upper sec recess is like damn pack with loads of people, wonder how I will manage to live through my upper secondary life with so much ups & downs. FT's period after recess, was just on time cause everyone was just freaking early. Talked about those admin stuff & so on. Math was after FT's period, for the very first time I have 2 math teachers. POA next, Mr.Wong's a funny guyyyyyyy :) Eh, I think that's all I'm gonna rant about. School sucks, live it well.

Before School Rants.

Yo ranters, school's freaking starting tomorrow. Early Mornings, Boring Assembly, Hours in the ClassRoom doing work. I guess this is what everyone of us go through, am I not right? Just came back from Bugis Junction, went for a haircut there. Totally awsome hair-do marcus! Walked around with my friends, loads of people there. Went to Bugis Village to shop a lil, bought a new jacket, awsome much ~

Went back to Bugis Junction & bought ONTO headphones, totally freaking awsome, sad thing is, it can't fit my handphone/itouch pouch. Bought chocolate milkshake at McDonalds, if only Fajar McDonalds had that, I'll buy one everyday, hahas so random. Cabbed back home. I got a feeling to go back to school but another feeling not to, mixed feelings ~ Well, guess I've rest quite alot during the holidays.
Time to flip through those workbooks again!

Rants of all Rants.

Y'know, I've been blogging for like 3 years. It's kinda tiring at times cause you have to keep your blog up to date, making sure it doesn't get rusty. Well, 2009 had been a pretty so-so year, don't cha think. What can I expect out of 2010? Maybe something totally extremely new. Like a new start, new life, new relationships, new personality. Hahas, I'm totally crapping out. Like pleaseeeee, how can I have a new life?!

I love cartoons and Rugrats is still one of my favs. While a cartoon, it provides an amazing insight into the psychology of both children, in the way the characters are depicted misunderstanding what they hear, usually by taking metaphors literally and speaking in malapropisms, and of adults, in the ways they react to child behaviour.

I remember watching a particular Rugrats episode where Tommy decided that clothing was optional. He would remove his nappy and t-shirt and run around proclaiming:

“Nakey is good! Nakey is free. Nakey is nakeeeeeeeeeeeey”.

Hahas, childlish & silly but still funny. It's amazing how time flies, from a kindergarten boy who used to watch Rugrats to a teenager who still loves watching Rugrats. Amazing, isn't it?

New Blog, New Rants.

Heyhey bloggers & ranters, most of you guys might be wondering why did I move to another blog? Well the reason is simple. I've been blogging for 3 years straight & I guess that it's time for a change, sometime different. I mean complicated--boy was the past, it's time for a new era in blogging for me.
Some of you might not know the meaning of Rantings, so I took some time and went on Dictionary.com to check up the meaning for you guys.

'Rantings', comes from the word Rant.

Yep, that's right. I'll most likely be typing loads of crap and foolish stuff on my new blog, so don't find it awkward.

Celebrated w/ Shaun & his friends at VivoCity's Sky Park yesterday. Had loads of fun playing Truth or Dare with the others. The place was packed before 10 I guess?

These Alvin & The Chipmunks were put for display at the Golden Village Cinema, Vivo. Totally adorable. Wanted to catch a midnight movie & stay up through the night, but due to lack of seats & planning, decided to go home instead. Trained back home w/ Shaun & his friend. Reached home at around 2:30am.

Last but not least, Happy New Year everyone!
